A double FRCS & British CCST Holder, Tom Cherian spent 18 yrs in England, working at King’s college Hospital, London. Has performed >800 Liver transplants, about 350 in India & the rest in London.
Has innovated several techniques in Liver surgery and was famous for performing the smallest ever liver transplant & first Split Liver transplant in Hyderabad.
But most liked for being the surgeon who made Liver Transplantation available to the common man, by starting liver transplantation in several key government hospitals, including Osmania Hospital, Hyd & GB Pant, New Delhi.
He received the Times of India ‘Legend in Transplant Surgery’ at the National Healthcare Awards in 2017.
Also an American College of Surgeons ATLS Instructor.
Keen medical Researcher.. with 8 Travel Grants; 149 Publications; >600 Citations & a H-index of 13. He has given over a 100 International Scientific Presentations.

Held various academic positions at Karunya, including Vice-Principal, Deputy Director (Hostel and Student Affairs), Director (School of Mechanical Sciences, Computer Science & Technology, and Management Studies), Dean (Academic Affairs), and Controller of Examinations, also held academic positions at Bharathiyar College of Engineering & Technology, Karaikal, and K.B.N. College of Engineering, Gulbarga.

Dr Nirmala Jeyaraj, MSc., PhD. Former Principal (1996-08) of Lady Doak College, Madurai,
and Former Program Director (2008-09) of the United Board, Hong Kong. She has specialized
in Molecular Biology with more than three decades of teaching and research experience
with publications to her credit. She was UB sponsored Visiting Professor (1991-92) in USA
and a Visiting Scholar (1986-88) in UK. Her other areas of interest being Gender Studies,
Environmental Studies and Service Learning, these were institutionalized at Lady Doak
during her tenure as Principal. Currently an Educational Consultant, she guides colleges in
their Quality initiatives.
